Attack of the Dumplings! + Dong Bei Restaurant in Binondo

So much has been said and written about this small authentic Chinese restaurant in Binondo.

So by the time that we've had the chance (and the moolah) to roam around Binondo again for some food hunting, our guts suggested that we visit this spot for a meal.

7 Great Lessons I Bagged Home from Bloggers Fest 2011

Lucky.

I was one of the lucky bloggers who had been invited to the recently concluded Bloggers Fest event held at the Thunderbird Resorts in Binangonan, Rizal last April 16, 2011.

Do-It-Yourself Xiao Long Bao at Dong Bei Restaurant in Binondo

Early this month, we had the privilege to go to Dong Bei Restaurant in Binondo to taste their dumplings for the first time. So much has been written and said about this down-to-earth Chinese restaurant so off we went to it that day.

But wait!

15 Ways to Enjoy Boracay (Even When You're There For Work)

Sure some of us have been to a few places because of our work. Sometimes we enjoy. And sometimes we are already back to Manila before we knew it. But what if it was Boracay or Palawan or Bohol we had just left behind us? How can we just peacefully go back to Manila without spending a single second to marvel at the scenery before us or taking our well-deserved break from the chaotic world where we came from?

Yeah right. Been there. Done that.

But this time (being Boracay it is, my recent trip) I made sure that I have maximized every opportunity (sane or out-of-this-world) that I was given to enjoy my stay in one of the most celebrated Tropical Beaches in the World.

So after my 3-day adventure, here are the stuffs that I have gathered which can give you an idea on how to still enjoy your trip even when you know you have a limited time. Remember: The key here is to maximize each opportunity that you have.

Alright? Here we go. Enjoy!

My first gig on TV is about fashion!

I worked for a Manila-based men's clothing brand for about four months after arriving from Shanghai last July 2010. Shanghai, the top-of-the-mind China destination of foreigners due to its "western" appeal and where schools teaching Madarin Chinese to foreigners abound, the city also is a fashion hub where many different styles may be taken inspiration from. There are Korean, Japanese, Italian, French, English and Australian students anywhere wearing stylish clothes for all seasons.

That's when I decided to get a bit of fashion (for career) when I went back to the Philippines. I was a Fashion Intern who did some Marketing for Dean & Trent. I enjoyed looking at the clothes a lot- from its conceptualization to materialization. From simply being drawn on a paper to being created out of fabrics, buttons and threads. I also enjoyed the photo shoots, the styling, the fashion shows, the managing of the store operations and the nitty-gritty of making the brand known to more people.

I may be in a industry now (my internship ended) but I still can say that fashion never left me. It's just simply a way of life.

I am sharing these two videos from Net 25's morning show, Homepage, where I was given the chance to share my ideas in finding one's own Personal Style and some fashion advises for men who are plus-sized. Thanks, Dean & Trent and Net 25, for this wonderful opportunity!

Vegetarian Talk with Tiffany Chua over a Bodhi Meal

Tiffany is a twenty-something year-old ex-International Relations professor at DLSU, Mandarin language instructor at ADMU and freelance Mandarin interpreter. My All Vegan Restaurant buddy in Shanghai who taught me that Einstein is a vegetarian. We really had so much fun in Shanghai last year that we want to relive our moments here in Manila via food tripping. Our long-awaited eat-together after her trip to Taiwan finally materialized at a vegetarian fast food stall in SM Makati.

Do you guys know about Bodhi?

Win

I am sharing a little something to you that I hope you'd enjoy.  I did a cover for a beautiful song by Brian McKnight and I recorded it in a studio. This has been a very memorable cover for me. I thought my friends liked it and I hope you'll appreciate it too. Please check this out for a while and let me know what you think.

The song is called Win.

7 Tips in Creating Killer Blog Posts

Here are some of the tips that I'd like to share to people who would like to start blogging.
  1. Make sure you have a good background on what you wish to write about.
  2. Give a fair amount of details as much as you can. Assume that your readers are completely unfamiliar with your topic. Link to outside sources if you need to.
  3. Keep it Short and Simple (KISS). Replace long explanations with pictures or videos.
  4. Write it the way you tell it your friends. In the case of food blogs, write it the way you eat it.
  5. Keep it real and spontaneous.
  6. Positive reviews and humor are highly appreciated.

We are currently accepting blog contributions. Feel free to send it to us at markjosephdelgado@ymail.com. All submissions shall be subject to evaluation before posting. Thanks, folks!
