My Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2011

[Author's Note:  To see the full mechanics of the Search, please click here.]

I love making lists.

Here in my blog, I almost always start with a list in mind before I can create a post. It's apparent with my latest entries.

And so on and so forth.

This time, the search for the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs opened for Year 2011. I can't help but to complete my very own list in my head because, guess what! SLEEK IN THE CITY.com, my very own, is qualified to join. Started last December 2010,  my blog can join as the search is open for nominations of blogs that started last April 2010 until present.

And so we join. Go!

Here is my Top 10.

Influential Blog #1. THE THRIVING SALESMAN. The "corporate world". Indeed, it's a tough world out there. And I like corporate dudes using the emerging power of blogs to vent out, to create a breathing space. Being a corporate guy myself, it's a comfort to know that I have bloggers who are also young professionals and who are unafraid to speak out about their daily struggles and who are generous enough too to give tips and advice for self-improvement and self-motivation.

Influential Blog #2. THE MIDDLE-MAN. Bourgeois Recommendations for the Third World Man. I've had a hard time spelling out "bourgeois" without looking. Good thing The Middle-Man blog is true to its promise of being the blog for aspirational yuppies like me who might need tips for fashion, updates for upcoming sales and events and etc. all for the sake of living the "it" life.

Influential Blog #3. YES, IT'S US! Couple stuffs are emerging nowadays. Couple shirts. Couple mugs. Couple accessories. Couple blogs? Why not! Now what happens to a couple who's blogging and joining contests. Isn't it twice the fun to win contests and share it with your better half? I think Yes, It's Us! has the potential of making it big in the future.

Influential Blog #4. SLEEK IN THE CITY.com Aside from what my mother told me when I was a child to "Love your own." I have really special reasons for voting for this blog. A product of me and my friend's hardwork and tears (almost literally, you can ask me more about it), our primary aim is to document our adventures and food trips inside and outside of Manila. Never did we know that we will really be able to share very useful information to travelers, food lovers and to plain blog readers. In the future, we'd like to be involved in initiatives that shall promote the love for our cities (Manila or not) through environmental conservation, responsible citizenship and the like. I took the inspiration for this blog from the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China with the theme "Better City, Better Life". Soon we will have our own store too. Watch out for it!

Influential Blog #5. AMBUSH ONLINE. It ain't no kind of murder. Ambush Online is a video blog. The Chad, the blogger, interviews all sorts of people like celebrities such as Iza Calzado, Freddie Roach and even the People's Champ himself, Hon. Manny Pacquiao. Ambush Online is perfect for people who like videos mixed with a little write-up in a blog entry.

Influential Blog #6. VEGGIE CIRCLE. I am voting for this blog as a tribute to all the Vegetarians and Vegans all over the world. When I was in China, I became really close with a Fil-Chi friend who introduced me to Vegan eating. From then on, I have conquered my phobia for veggies. Also, never had it occurred to me that one of the most influential people in my life turned to be a vegetarian. Guess who? None other than, Albert Einstein. Veggies are cool! Go Veggie Circle! Spread the love!

Influential Blog #7. RIZAL PARK.ORG. I am all for the preservation of our natural heritage and I think that by blogging about the things that are important to us as Filipinos, we will be able to let the next generation of Filipinos know more about our culture and history. Kudos to RizalPark.Org!

Influential Blog #8. BLOGGER MANILA. I'm so proud to be a part of this network! Thanks to Mr. Blogger Manila himself, Jonel Uy!

Influential Blog #9. DARNA LIVES! Who doesn't know about this all-time well-loved Pinay superhero? Well, reality is that not too many kids of today knows about her anymore. Which is kinda sad. But thanks to very talented illustrators and comic artists, many kids of today and of the future of generation may be able to know about her. This blog has an advocacy to relive the fantasy and the power that Darna had left in the hearts of the people who knows about her.

Influential Blog #10. CERTIFIED FOODIES. Rising up as the topnotch Influential Blogger for 2011, how can Certified Foodies not be called truly influential? Good job, Mhel & Khen!

  16. Hi, Mark! :)

We hope you'd also consider our food blog, CertifiedFoodies.com, for your list this year.

Just like your story about how your blog started, ours started as a mere space for us to write about our food trips and our experiments in our kitchen. We didn't expect to get the support we've had for the past year the blog has been in existence.

Cooking and going on food trips are 2 of the most fun ways my bro and I bond. We're the closest siblings you'd probably see around, which surprises people. Some can't even believe I'm 7 years older than he is. (Can you? LOL)

In our relationship as siblings, definitely, food and cooking are major factors why we're as close as we are now. And this is what we're hoping to accomplish, aside from making people go back to their kitchens and cook or try something new, but how food can affect our lives. :)

By the way, my bro's in culinary school now so he'd be sharing more recipes and techniques very soon. :)

(And just like what I always say when I campaign for our blog, this isn't a copy-pasted speech. ^_^ I love your blog, by the way. My bro loves your blog's layout, most especially. )
